Survey3 Firmware
Instructions for Updating Survey3 Camera Firmware:
- Download the firmware file by clicking a link below and copying the .bin file onto an empty SD card.
- Make sure the camera's battery is charged a minimum 50% and the camera is powered off. Do not rely on USB power during firmware updates.
- Insert the card into the camera and press either the front or top button to begin the update. The camera's LEDs will flash and the beep will sound during the update.
- Once the camera fully boots up the new firmware will be installed. You can confirm by checking the firmware version in the camera settings, using the rear LCD navigation.
*If camera is not detecting firmware file, format the card from the settings option on the camera.

Version 1.13 - October 8, 2023
- Support for up to 512GB memory cards (must format to FAT32, recommended formatting program HERE)
- Rear LCD can be turned back on after lock (default 1 min lock) with a single touch to the black screen, no physical button press required.
- Time Zone is now set by default to GMT-0, which is GNSS time.
- RAW mode is now enabled by default. We do not recommend using JPG mode if performing reflectance calibration.
- Interval Mode is now default to OFF.
- Shutter speeds updated for all models to reflect default RAW mode being enabled.

Version 1.11 - February 25, 2021
- New USB Mode supports 3 new user-configurable options:
- Power (Default): When USB cable is connected to a computer or power source it charges the camera's internal battery.
- SD Card Mount: When USB cable is connected to a computer the camera's uSD card is automatically mounted to the computer and the uSD contents can be edited/viewed. The camera buttons and rear LCD are not able to be used while in SD Mount mode. The camera's battery will also be charged.
- USB Streaming: When USB is connected to computer the camera will be detected as a web camera and provide a live video stream. The camera buttons and rear LCD are not able to be used while in USB Streaming mode. The camera's battery will also be charged.
