Survey3N Manual Focus Lens Wheel

This focus wheel allows you to easily turn the Survey3 lens and adjust the camera's focus manually.

Installation Instructions:

Use a plastic pry tool to pop off the green faceplate, working your way around to fully remove it. You can also use a thin card like an old credit card. There are small tabs holding it to the camera housing. Some tabs may break a little, but there should be enough to reinstall it securely later.

Set the green faceplate aside for now:

Grab the lens and unscrew it counterclockwise to remove it:

Locate the manual focus wheel which is compatible with your camera lens. The wheel with the larger hole in the middle (shown below) is for the wider angle lens of the Survey3W camera. The smaller hole wheel is for the narrower lens of the Survey3N camera.

Grab the lens and push it down into the focus wheel. Be careful NOT to push down on the colored filter which is installed on the bottom of the lens. If you crack the filter on the lens you will likely need to replace the lens.

The lens should be pushed all the way into the wheel:

Look at the lens from the front and make sure there is no gap between the lens and the wheel:

Unscrew the two small screws on the green faceplate:

Remove the black plastic lens surround:

Reinstall the green faceplate by pushing it onto the camera housing:

Screw the lens with manual focusing wheel clockwise into the camera lens mount. Go slow until you feel it thread in without resistance. The lens and lens mount have metal threads so it's difficult to damage the threads unless you do not install the lens straight. Sometimes turning it clockwise and counterclockwise until it grabs the correct lens mount threads helps.

Your installation is complete on the Survey3 camera.

Simply turn the lens wheel while looking at the live video output to adjust the focus.
